Image Resizing Tips

Always lock aspect ratio (the ๐Ÿ”’ button) when resizing photos to avoid distortion. For web images, resize to the maximum display size you need โ€” serving a 2000px image in a 400px slot wastes bandwidth. For print, use at least 300 DPI: an A4 sheet at 300dpi is 2480ร—3508 pixels.

What does "lock aspect ratio" do?
It automatically adjusts the height when you change width (and vice versa) to keep the image proportions the same, preventing stretching.
Can I make an image larger?
Yes โ€” enter dimensions larger than the original or use a percentage over 100%. Note that upscaling reduces sharpness as no new detail can be added.
Is the tool private?
Yes โ€” all processing happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded to any server.
What output format should I use?
For web photos: JPG or WebP. For graphics with transparency: PNG. For modern web use: WebP (smaller than JPG and PNG).
